Repair before replace
Most iron fences do not need full replacement when they start showing age. Rust spots, bent pickets, cracked welds, sagging gates, and faded paint can all be fixed on-site without tearing out the entire system. We assess the damage, identify what is structural vs. cosmetic, and repair only what needs it.
We handle repair and restoration work for residential iron fences, commercial perimeters, estate gates, and ornamental railings across all four service areas. Whether it is a single broken picket or a full fence-line repaint, we can scope it and fix it.
Common repairs
- Rust removal and treatment: Wire brushing, grinding, chemical treatment, primer, and fresh topcoat to stop active corrosion and restore appearance.
- Weld repair: Cracked or broken weld joints re-welded on-site with proper penetration and ground smooth.
- Picket and rail replacement: Bent, missing, or broken pickets cut out and replaced with matching material, welded in place.
- Gate rehang and realignment: Sagging or dragging gates lifted, hinges replaced or adjusted, and latches reset.
- Post resetting: Leaning posts dug out, reset in fresh concrete, and replumbed.
Full restoration
For older iron fences with widespread rust, multiple broken sections, and failed paint, we offer full restoration: complete sandblasting or chemical stripping, structural welding, replacement of any sections beyond repair, and a fresh powder coat or paint system. The result is a fence that looks and performs like new at a fraction of full replacement cost.
When to replace instead
If more than 40-50% of the fence material is structurally compromised, replacement is usually more cost-effective than piecemeal repair. We will tell you honestly which route makes more sense for your situation.
